Anxiety can cause so much distress and, while we may all have anxious bouts from time to time (such as when we’re about to go into an interview), anxiety can become all-encompassing and persistent if we don’t manage it effectively. According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the United States – affecting about 40 million adults each year.
